Our HSS twist drills are designed for a very long service life thanks to their high-quality metal alloy containing 5% cobalt and the fully ground HSS steel, which offers excellent surface finish, wear resistance and heat protection. They are manufactured in accordance with DIN 338 and comply with drill class Type N, which means they have a small rake angle of 135 degrees, a diameter tolerance of h8 and a cross-ground drill tip. Thanks to the cross-ground tip, our drill bits have an active cutting edge and are therefore perfectly centred, which prevents the drill bit from running out of true.
The drill shank is cylindrical, i.e. the shank diameter corresponds to the drill diameter. Thanks to the two cutting edges and two spiral flutes, the drills remove chips quickly, thereby significantly extending their service life. Our drill bits are suitable for a wide range of materials, such as alloyed and unalloyed steels, stainless steels, cast iron, cast steel, and acid- and heat-resistant steels.
