M16 adapter, 180 mm, with 8 x 120 mm Pilot drill: Position the back box cutter precisely
This set is ideal for flush-mounted sockets with back box cutters, ensuring precise positioning on the marked line: 180 mm adapter, Pilot drill Ø 8 x 120 mm, drive wedge.
- M16 internal and external shank, long design: removes the crown, for corners, recesses and tight spaces.
- 120 mm Pilot drill for back box cutters: pre-drills and holds the cutter in place; the drive wedge releases it.
- For our DKB102/H: fits directly onto the M16 spindle; otherwise, use our adapter to fit onto M16.

M16 female to M16 male adapter, 180 mm, with 8 x 120 mm Pilot drill and drive wedge
This set is ideal for flush-mounted boxes with back box cutters, positioned precisely on the marked line: a long adapter with an M16 female thread and an M16 male thread, 180 mm long, plus a Pilot drill (Ø 8 x 120 mm) which guides the core bit during drilling. For the 160 mm long M16 dry diamond core bits, we offer the same set with an 8 x 230 mm Pilot drill; for short distances between the machine and the crown, we offer our 50 mm long adapter with an 8 x 120 mm Pilot drill.
Thread and mounting
The adapter is screwed onto the M16 spindle via its internal thread, whilst the back box cutter or core bit is fitted to the external thread. The Pilot drill, with its tapered shank, fits into the adapter and first drills an 8 mm hole, which holds the core bit in place when it is positioned, preventing it from shifting. Once the pilot hole has been drilled, the centring drill bit is removed; the drive wedge releases the taper from the adapter. With a length of 180 mm, the adapter positions the core bit well clear of the machine, allowing work to be carried out even at wall corners, between pipes or in recesses.

Compatible core bits and machines
The set fits directly onto the M16 spindle of our DKB102/H model, and onto our core drilling machines with a 1 1/4" UNC thread via our 1 1/4" UNC to M16 adapter. At the front, the adapter accommodates our M16 tools:
- Our M16 back box cutters: Ø 68 / 72 / 76 / 82 mm for installation boxes in masonry, sand-lime brick and clay brick – the length for which the 120 mm Pilot drill is designed.
- Our M16 dry diamond core bits with a working length of 160 mm: Ø 32 / 42 / 92 / 102 / 112 / 122 / 132 / 142 / 152 mm for concrete, masonry, brick and lightweight concrete, to be used with the 230 Pilot drill.
- Our ZB pilot drill: Available as a replacement in 120 / 200 / 210 / 230 mm when the tip has become blunt after numerous drillings.
