Water pressure tanks with pumps for core drilling rigs and floor grinders

Wet drilling and wet grinding require pressurised water, and on a building site the nearest tap is often three storeys away. A water pressure tank with a pump delivers the water to the machine: a 60-litre model on wheels with a pressure pump, or 10- and 16-litre models with a hand pump attached to a carrying strap. All our water pressure tanks have a Gardena coupling on the hose, making them compatible with our core drilling rigs, core drilling systems and floor grinders.

Pressurised water tanks: how the water supply works

During wet drilling, the diamond segments of the drill bit require a constant film of water: this cools the bit, flushes cuttings out of the cut and binds the dust. A pressurised water tank supplies this from the reservoir. With the piston-type hand pump, you pump up the tank until the pressure is sufficient; a pressure relief valve limits the pressure, whilst the vent valve depressurises the tank after work. With the electric pressure pump, a pressure regulator maintains a constant pressure; the display shows the pressure, and the pump is protected against running dry if the tank runs empty.

The hand-operated pump tank is designed for individual drill holes and the hand-held core drill; it is carried upright and requires no electricity. The 60-litre tanks are designed for a full day’s work on the Core drilling rig or Floor grinder; the pump runs on mains power or an 18 V battery, with lower pressure extending the runtime when running on battery power. The WT-60/S’s hose reel keeps the hose clear of drilling mud and extends 10 m into the room.

Connecting the water pressure tank to the core drilling rig

Connect the hose to the Gardena coupling on the machine’s water inlet, open the ball valve on the machine’s water inlet, switch on the pump or fill the tank. When drilling into ceilings, a water collection ring catches the water on the wall and directs it into a bucket or wet vacuum. After finishing work, empty the tank and open the vent valve; store frost-free in winter.

Why choose water pressure tanks from Kernlochbohrer.com
