KBS252/Light-K core drill stand for core drilling up to 252 mm

The KBS252/Light-K is our lightweight model: up to Ø 252 mm, 8.5 kg, 500 mm stroke, slim guide column 40 x 40 mm, right-angled, without trolley, approved for use with the DKB252/Xtrem.

In the same diameter class, we also offer the KBS252/PRO with a tiltable guide column and castors, and the IDS252/V-PRO with Vacuum fixing; both are designed for our 202 mm class core drilling rigs.

Drilling diameter and drilling direction

With the KBS252/Light-K, core drilling rigs can drill up to a diameter of 252 mm, which is sufficient for ventilation ducts and waste water pipes. The stand can be used on the floor or against a wall; it is equipped with a spirit level for both horizontal and vertical mounting. It does not have an angle adjustment feature.

Mounting and stability

The base is fitted through its slotted hole onto a threaded rod or the screw from a fixing kit and secured with the nut. In brick walls, the instructions specify the use of a special masonry anchor, as a concrete hammer-in anchor may crack the brick and become loose. Alternatively, without a wall plug, the stand can be braced using struts via the clamping screw at the top of the guide stand. Four levelling screws and the two spirit levels are used to align it. The fixing materials are not supplied with the stand; our fixing accessories depend on the substrate:

• Kordel-Fix Set L: Threaded rod with Kordel-Fix nut, quick to install and reusable. The first choice for repeated drilling in concrete.
• Concrete anchors and threaded rod: The classic anchoring method using metal anchors for load-bearing concrete.
• Setting tool: For cleanly setting the anchors without damaging the thread.

Feed mechanism, carriage and transport

The feed is operated via the lever, which can be attached on either side. The locking lever secures the carriage and the machine in any position, ensuring that nothing slips down when changing the crown. Before first use, the guide stand is rotated 180 degrees and screwed back onto the base; the stand is then ready for use. There is no trolley; weighing 8.5 kg, it is carried by hand.

Compatible core drilling machines

The unit is bolted directly to the feed carriage using four M8 cylindrical bolts and a key, suitable for machines with a hole spacing of 79 x 41 mm and a 10 mm keyway. Alternatively, it can be mounted on the clamping collar using the supplied 60 mm clamping holder. According to the instructions, the DKB252/Xtrem diamond core drill is approved for use; this is a wet drilling rig capable of drilling up to Ø 252 mm, available as part of our DKB252/Xtrem core drilling system with the KBS252/Light stand.
