DKB-202/H-PRO diamond core drill for wet and dry drilling up to 202 mm

The DKB-202/H-PRO is the 2 kW-class wet and dry core drill: 2200 watts, three-speed gearbox, hand-held up to Ø 162 mm, in a Core drill stand up to Ø 202 mm, for concrete, reinforced concrete and masonry.

Identical in design to the P-handle version for wall drilling in confined spaces: our DKB-202/P-PRO. With the appropriate core drill stand, the machine is available as the DKB-202/H-PRO core drilling system with the KBS252/PRO.

Drilling diameters and materials

The DKB-202/H-PRO drills wet in concrete and reinforced concrete, and dry with extraction in masonry, sand-lime brick, clinker and brick. Both operating modes are factory-set; a water connection and extraction adapter are included. When operated by hand, the drilling range is sufficient for heating and plumbing pipes, cable penetrations and back box cutters; when used with the Core drill stand, it is also suitable for ventilation ducts and waste water pipes, for which smaller machines are no longer adequate.

Motor and gearbox

The 2200-watt motor, operating at 230 V, is driven via a three-speed gearbox in an oil bath, which provides the correct speed for every diameter, rather than drilling at a compromised speed. Large core bits thus run at full torque, whilst small ones operate at high cutting speed; this protects the motor and diamond segments and maintains a consistent drilling rate.

• Speed 1, 650 rpm: up to Ø 202 mm in the drill stand, up to Ø 162 mm when hand-held
• Speed 2, 1,300 rpm: up to Ø 102 mm in the stand, up to Ø 82 mm when hand-held
• Speed 3, 2,600 rpm: up to Ø 62 mm in the drill stand, up to Ø 42 mm when hand-held

Additional functions

• Soft start: The motor starts at reduced speed, allowing the drill bit to engage smoothly without a torque surge causing the machine to jerk or the hole to go out of alignment.
• LED load indicator: Displays the current load, allowing the contact pressure to be adjusted whilst drilling.
• Carbon brush warning system: Alerts the user when the brushes need replacing before the machine fails. A spare set is included.

Safety features

• Slip clutch: Mechanically cuts off the power transmission as soon as the drill bit becomes jammed in the material. When drilling by hand, this prevents kickback into the wrist.
• Electronic protection: Protected against overcurrent, overvoltage, overheating and overload.
• Protection class II: Protective insulation; no earth conductor required.

Hand-held or in a Core drill stand

Weighing 7.5 kg and featuring a rotatable clamping collar handle, the tool can be safely operated by hand up to a depth of 162 mm. For depths greater than this and for drilling at a precise right angle, it is mounted in the stand; the clamping collar fits any Core drill stand with a 60 mm clamping holder. The tool holder accommodates standard Diamond core drill bits without the need for an adapter. If a core drill bit becomes stuck after drilling, the supplied quick-release ring and the two open-ended spanners can be used to loosen it without damaging the thread.

Suitable core drill stands and drill bits

Which of our core drill stands is suitable depends on the substrate and the location of use:

• KBS252/PRO: The all-rounder up to Ø 252 mm with dowel fixing and attachable chassis. The first choice if the machine is regularly operated on the stand.
• IDS252/V-PRO: With Vacuum fixing. For smooth floors and walls where dowelling is not permitted.
• TBS3000/PRO: Telescopic stand up to Ø 202 mm, which is braced between the floor and ceiling. For ceiling drilling without dowels or vacuum.
