The diamond cup wheel for extremely hard concrete is ideal for retrofitting underfloor heating in high-strength concrete floors: Ø 130 mm, 12 laser-welded T-shaped protective segments with a V-profile, designed for concrete in strength classes C40 to C45. The groove width can be selected from the options 15, 16 or 17 mm to suit the heating pipe. For C30 concrete, cement screed and anhydrite screed, we offer our Diamond cup wheel with a V-profile, Ø 130 mm, with the same diameter.

Groove width and shank

The groove width determines which heating pipe fits into the milled groove: 15 mm for a 14 mm pipe, 16 mm for a 16 mm pipe with a tight fit, 17 mm for a 16 mm pipe with some play or a 17 mm pipe. The narrower the groove, the better the pipe holds without clips; the wider the groove, the easier it is to insert the pipe. With a 22.23 mm centre bore, the disc fits onto the standard mountings of underfloor heating milling machines and groove cutters.

Segments and construction

Twelve closely interlocking block segments with a T-profile are laser-welded onto the main blade. The weld seam holds the segments securely to the blade even under load in high-strength concrete; the T-profile protects the flanks from lateral wear, whilst the V-profile provides additional protection and extends the service life. The higher diamond concentration in each segment ensures superior cutting performance and service life, resulting in fewer blade changes on site.

Materials

The disc is designed for concrete grades C40 to C45. The bond behaves inversely to the concrete’s hardness: the harder the concrete, the softer the bond. This is the disc for floors where other milling discs quickly become blunt or wear out, such as in commercial and industrial buildings with high-strength concrete. It is not intended for softer concrete up to C30 or for screed; our Diamond cup wheel with a V-profile, Ø 130 mm, is designed for that purpose.

Compatible machines

The disc is designed for our T-REX underfloor heating milling machine. The T-REX accommodates milling discs with a diameter of 130 mm and mills grooves from 13 to 17 mm wide, thus covering all three groove widths. Milling can be carried out dry, using an industrial vacuum cleaner connected to the extraction port, or wet via the water connection. The disc will fit other grooving machines provided the machine has a 22.23 mm shank and accommodates 130 mm discs.
