HSS-CO Titanium Twist drill bit set, 19-piece, for steel and stainless steel
This set is ideal for steel, stainless steel, cast iron and cast steel: 19 drill bits ranging from Ø 1 to 10 mm in 0.5 mm increments, made from HSS-CO with 5 per cent cobalt and titanium-coated.
- Up to Ø 10 mm: all centre holes from M3 to M10, through-hole for M12.
- 135-degree cross-cut: centres the drill without the need for a centre punch.

This 19-piece set is ideal for everyday drilling in steel, featuring a drill bit that remains sharp even in stainless steel after ten holes: HSS-CO with 5 per cent cobalt, titanium-coated, fully ground to DIN 338.
The 19 diameters, ranging from Ø 1 to 10 mm in 0.5 mm increments, cover all the through-holes and counterbores required in metalworking.
Drill sizes and shank types
One drill bit per diameter, ranging from the No. 1 for marking out and pre-drilling to the No. 10 for M12 through-holes. The half-millimetre sizes in between are what distinguish a set from individual purchases: Kernlochbohrer for M3 (2.5 mm), M4 (3.3 mm, drilled with a 3.5 mm drill), M5 (4.2 mm, drilled with a 4 or 4.5 mm drill), M6 (5 mm), M8 (6.8 mm, drilled with a 6.5 or 7) and M10 (8.5 mm) are all included. The shank is cylindrical, with the shank diameter equal to the drill bit diameter, so the drill bits fit into any drill chuck, from a hand drill to a column drill.

Construction and cutting material
The drill bits are manufactured to DIN 338, drill class Type N for standard materials. The cross-ground cutting edge with a 135-degree point angle centres the drill bit automatically; it starts cutting without the need for centre punching and does not wander. Two cutting edges and two spiral flutes rapidly remove chips, keeping the cutting edge cool and extending tool life.

Materials
The cobalt content makes the cutting material heat-resistant, whilst the titanium coating reduces friction. This enables the set to drill alloyed and unalloyed steels, stainless steels, cast iron and cast steel, including acid- and heat-resistant grades, where a standard HSS drill bit would overheat.
