SDS Plus to M16 adapter: turns your hammer drill into a socket drill
The adapter is ideal for installing junction boxes using a diamond tool on a hammer drill: SDS Plus to M16 external thread, powder-coated steel. It is inserted like a drill bit, with a back box cutter or core bit fitted at the front. Fits hammer drills with SDS Plus in pure drilling mode without hammer action.

SDS Plus to M16 adapter
This adapter is ideal for flush-mounted boxes and small penetrations when using a diamond tool with an existing hammer drill fitted with an SDS-Plus chuck: it converts the SDS-Plus chuck into an M16 external thread. For 1 1/4" UNC core bits, we offer our SDS Plus to 1 1/4" UNC adapter; for those requiring a Pilot drill and drive wedge, we offer our SDS Plus to M16 adapter with a 8 x 120 mm Pilot drill.
Thread and chuck
The adapter is inserted into the SDS-Plus chuck of the hammer drill just like a drill bit and locks into place; the back box cutter or core bit is then screwed onto the M16 thread at the front. This turns your existing hammer drill into a box cutter, without the need for a separate core drilling machine.

Compatible core bits and machines
Diamond tools are designed for use on hammer drills in pure drilling mode without hammer action; our back box cutters are not designed for use with hammer drills. Suitable for the M16 thread:
- Our M16 back box cutters: Ø 68 / 72 / 76 / 82 mm for flush-mounted sockets in masonry, sand-lime brick and clay brick.
- Our M16 dry diamond core bits with a working length of 160 mm: Ø 32 / 42 / 92 / 102 / 112 / 122 / 132 / 142 / 152 mm for concrete, masonry, brick and lightweight concrete.
- Our case set containing five M16 dry diamond core bits: Ø 38 / 52 / 65 / 117 / 127 mm in a case, for when multiple sizes are required.
