IDS252/V-PRO core drill stand for core drilling up to 252 mm

The IDS252/V-PRO is our mid-range stand with a variable base plate: clamped up to Ø 252 mm, 16.8 kg, 580 mm stroke, guide column tiltable up to 45 degrees, vibration-damping design, clamping holder for 60 mm clamping collar, without trolley.

In the same class, we offer the KBS252/PRO with dowel fixing and an attachable trolley; for larger diameters using the same vacuum technology, there is the IDS352/V-PRO.

Drilling diameter and direction

With the IDS252/V-PRO, core drilling rigs can drill up to 252 mm in diameter, sufficient for ventilation ducts and waste water pipes. This applies when bolted in place; with vacuum, the maximum is 202 mm on the floor and 152 mm on the wall. The stand can be used on the floor and on the wall; for angled drilling, the guide stand can be tilted up to 45 degrees. For drilling into the ceiling, the instructions recommend our TBS3000/PRO telescopic stand.

Mounting and stability

Fixing is carried out using wall plugs and a threaded rod or a Kordel-Fix kit; for brick walls, the instructions specify a special masonry anchor, as a concrete hammer-in anchor may crack the brick and become loose. For the vacuum, the adapter is already fitted in the base plate; only the pump needs to be connected. Drilling can begin once the pressure gauge reads a negative pressure of 0.7 bar. Vacuum use is only permitted on walls and floors; it is prohibited on ceilings and will only hold on a level, clean surface. Four levelling screws and the spirit levels are used to align the stand. Our accessories depend on the surface:

• Kordel-Fix Set L: Threaded rod with Kordel-Fix nut – quick to install and reusable. The first choice for repeated drilling in concrete.
• Concrete wall plugs and threaded rod: The classic anchoring method using metal wall plugs for load-bearing concrete.
• Anchor driver: For clean insertion of the anchors without damaging the thread.
• VP113/PRO vacuum pump: Creates the vacuum required for Vacuum fixing on smooth floors and walls.
• Vacuum plate VGP420/PRO: Our separate vacuum plate; not required on the IDS252/V-PRO as the vacuum mount is built-in.

Feed, carriage and transport

The feed is operated via the lever on the toothed shaft on the carriage; the locking lever secures the carriage and the tool in any position to prevent anything from dropping whilst changing the drill bit. An extendable guide rail in the base plate supports the crown during drilling until it is securely seated. The vibration-damping design absorbs vibrations and makes operating the lever less tiring. There is no travel mechanism.

The unit is mounted on the clamping collar via the 60 mm clamping holder. The following core drilling machines from our range are compatible:

• SID202/H-Xtrem and SID202/P-Xtrem: soft impact core drilling machines capable of dry and wet drilling up to Ø 202 mm when mounted on a stand.
• DKB-202/H-PRO and DKB-202/P-PRO: wet and dry core drilling machines, capable of drilling up to Ø 202 mm on the stand.
