KBS502/PRO core drill stand for core drilling up to 502 mm

The KBS502/PRO is our largest core drilling stand: up to Ø 502 mm, 19.5 kg, 650 mm stroke, two toothed shafts, guide column tiltable up to 45 degrees, 110 mm mounting adapter, with attachable trolley.

Drilling diameter and direction

With the KBS502/PRO, core drilling rigs can drill holes up to 502 mm in diameter, sufficient for large building penetrations, ventilation ducts and flue pipes. The stroke of 650 mm is also the maximum drilling depth. The stand can be used on the floor or against a wall; for angled drilling, the guide stand can be tilted up to 45 degrees using the scale.

Mounting and stability

The base plate is anchored to the substrate using a wall plug and a threaded rod, or with the Kordel-Fix set. In brick walls, the instructions specify the use of a special masonry anchor, as a concrete-set anchor could crack the brick and become loose. Four levelling screws and two spirit levels align the stand so that the large drill head is positioned at a right angle and does not tilt. The fixing materials are not supplied with the stand; our fixing accessories depend on the surface:

• Kordel-Fix Set xl: Kordel threaded rod with kordel-fix nut, quick to install and reusable. The first choice for repeated drilling in concrete.
• Concrete wall plugs and threaded rod: The classic anchoring method using metal wall plugs for load-bearing concrete.
• Setting tool: For clean insertion of the anchors without damaging the thread.

Feed, carriage and transport

The carriage has two gear shafts: on the upper shaft, the feed runs slowly and powerfully during drilling; on the lower shaft, the carriage moves quickly into position. A safety catch secures the carriage and the machine so that nothing drops when changing the drill bit. For transport, the chassis is bolted to the base plate; the stand is then tilted backwards and pushed on its wheels.

Compatible core drilling units

The supplied mounting adapter, shown here with a height of 110 mm, is bolted to the machine using four M8 bolts and a key, and inserted into the carriage; a 60 mm clamping collar alone is not sufficient. The following core drilling machines from our range are compatible:

• DKB502/PRO: Wet core drill with 3500 watts, up to Ø 502 mm. Utilises the full drilling range of the stand and is the first choice.
• DKB352/PRO: Wet core drill with 3,300 watts, up to Ø 402 mm.
• SID352/PRO: Soft impact core drilling machine up to Ø 352 mm, wet and dry. For drilling with soft impact action, the manufacturer recommends our IDS352/V-PRO.
