Hex-to-M16 adapter: Drilling recesses with your existing machine
The adapter is ideal for cutting out box recesses using a diamond tool on your existing machine: hexagonal to M16 external thread, powder-coated steel. Insert it into the chuck; a back box cutter or core bit is fitted at the front. Suitable for machines with a hexagonal chuck; drilling is carried out without impact.

Hex to M16 adapter
This adapter is ideal for flush-mounted boxes and small through-holes when using diamond tools on machines with a hexagonal shank: it converts the hexagonal shank into an M16 external thread. For tools with an M14 shank, we offer our hex to M14 adapter; for tools with a hex shank, drive pin and Pilot drill, we offer our hex to M16 adapter with an 8 x 120 mm Pilot drill.
Thread and mounting
The adapter is inserted into the machine’s chuck with the hexagonal end facing inwards; at the front, the back box cutter or core bit is screwed onto the M16 thread. This transforms the existing machine into a box cutter, without the need for a dedicated core drilling machine.

Suitable drill bits and machines
Drilling is carried out without hammer action; our back box cutters are not designed for use with hammer drills. Suitable for the M16 thread:
- Our M16 back box cutters: Ø 68 / 72 / 76 / 82 mm for flush-mounted sockets in masonry, sand-lime brick and clay brick.
- Our M16 dry diamond core bits with a working length of 160 mm: Ø 32 / 42 / 92 / 102 / 112 / 122 / 132 / 142 / 152 mm for concrete, masonry, brick and lightweight concrete.
- Our case set containing five M16 dry diamond core bits: Ø 38 / 52 / 65 / 117 / 127 mm in a case, for when multiple sizes are required.
