This set is ideal for making through-holes with M16 dry diamond core bits, precisely on the marked line: SDS Plus to M16 adapter, Pilot drill Ø 8 x 230 mm, drive wedge.
- SDS Plus shank: inserted like a drill bit, with a back box cutter or core bit fitted at the front.
- 230 mm Pilot drill for M16 dry diamond core bits: suitable for a working length of 160 mm, holds the bit in place during positioning.
- For hammer drills with SDS Plus: in pure drilling mode without hammer action.

SDS Plus to M16 adapter with 8 x 230 mm Pilot drill and drive wedge
This set is ideal for making through-holes using longer M16 core bits on an SDS-Plus hammer drill, ensuring a clean start: SDS-Plus to M16, plus a Pilot drill (Ø 8 x 230 mm) to guide the core bit during initial drilling, and a drive wedge. For back box cutters, our set with an 8 x 120 mm Pilot drill is sufficient.
Thread and chuck
The adapter is inserted into the SDS-Plus chuck of the hammer drill just like a drill bit and locks into place; the back box cutter or core bit is then screwed onto the M16 thread at the front. The Pilot drill, with its tapered shank, fits into the adapter and first drills an 8 mm hole to hold the core bit in place when it is positioned, preventing it from slipping. After the initial drilling, it is removed; the drive wedge releases the taper from the adapter.

Compatible core bits and machines
The diamond tool runs on a hammer drill in pure drilling mode without hammer action; our back box cutters are not designed for use with hammer drills. Suitable for the M16 thread:
- Our M16 back box cutters: Ø 68 / 72 / 76 / 82 mm for installation sockets in masonry, sand-lime brick and clay brick; the set with the 120 Pilot drill is sufficient for this.
- Our M16 dry diamond core bits with a working length of 160 mm: Ø 32 / 42 / 92 / 102 / 112 / 122 / 132 / 142 / 152 mm for concrete, masonry, brick and lightweight concrete; the 230 Pilot drill is intended for these lengths.
- Our ZB pilot drill: Available as a replacement in 120 / 200 / 210 / 230 mm when the tip has become blunt after numerous drill holes.
