xl Kordel-Fix Nut

Kordel-Fix xl nut with a 94 mm flange for core drill stands in the KBS-PRO series

The Kordel-Fix Nut xl is ideal for core drilling operations that need to reposition one of our large pro stands several times a day and do not want to have to fiddle with nuts and washers every time: It is screwed onto the threaded rod, tightens the base plate securely across a wide area using the 94 mm flange, and compensates for misaligned rods thanks to its joint. Made from stainless steel, it moves from drilling site to drilling site. Our Kordel-Fix Nut L is the smaller version for stands with a slotted hole up to 30 mm.

How to fix the upright

A threaded rod is positioned at the drilling point, either in an M12 concrete anchor or screwed directly into the concrete using a concrete thread. The stand’s base plate is placed over the rod with its groove, the nut is screwed on and tightened using a SW 32 open-ended spanner. The joint between the nut and the fixing plate ensures that the plate rests flat across its entire surface, even if the rod is at an angle or the base plate is uneven. This allows the nut to tighten the post evenly, rather than straining it at a single edge.

Size L or xl

The base of the stand determines which nut is suitable. Size xl, with a 94 mm flange, is designed for the base plates of our KBS-pro stands, whilst size l, with a 55 mm flange, is for stands with a slotted hole up to 30 mm. Both nuts are tightened using a sw 32 spanner and fit the same threaded rods.

Compatible with these core drill stands

According to the product description for the stands, size xl is used on these models:

• IDS352/V-PRO: Vacuum stand up to Ø 352 mm with a 25 mm groove, secured with this nut.
• KBS252/PRO: Medium-duty stand up to Ø 252 mm, alternatively secured with dowels and a threaded rod.
• KBS352/PRO: Heavy-duty stand up to Ø 402 mm with its own chassis.
• KBS352/XL-PRO: The long stand with a 1600 mm stroke for thick walls and foundations.
• KBS502/PRO: Our largest stand for drilling up to Ø 502 mm.

The size corresponding to each stand is specified under ‘Mounting’ for each of our core drill stands.

What else is required

The nut only holds securely when used with a threaded rod: our 210 mm M12 threaded rod is screwed into an M12 concrete anchor; the rods with concrete threads in 220 mm and 270 mm lengths hold directly in the concrete without an anchor. The nut and rod are also available pre-assembled as the Kordel-Fix Set xl.
