SDS Max to M16 adapter: back box cutter and M16 core bits for use with a heavy-duty hammer drill
The adapter is ideal for back box cutters and M16 core bits on heavy-duty hammer drills or combination hammers: SDS Max to M16 external thread. Manufactured from a single piece, there are no joints that could come loose. Fits hammers with SDS Max in pure drilling mode without hammer action.

SDS Max to M16 adapter
This adapter is ideal for back box cutters and core bits with an M16 shank when used on a heavy-duty hammer drill or combination hammer with an SDS-Max chuck: it converts the SDS-Max chuck into an M16 external thread. For core bits with a 1 1/4" UNC thread, we offer our SDS Max to 1 1/4" UNC adapter; for those with a Pilot drill and drive wedge, we offer our SDS Max to M16 adapter with a 8 x 120 mm Pilot drill.
Thread and chuck
The adapter is inserted into the SDS-Max chuck of the hammer drill and locks into place; at the front, the back box cutter or core bit is screwed onto the M16 thread. It is manufactured in one piece; there is no joint between the chuck and the thread that could come loose, and therefore no ejector wedge is required.

Compatible drill bits and machines
The diamond tool is designed for use on a hammer drill in pure drilling mode without hammer action; our back box cutters are not designed for use with impact drills. Suitable for the M16 thread:
- Our M16 diamond back box cutters: Ø 68 / 72 / 76 / 82 mm for flush-mounted sockets in masonry, sand-lime brick and clay brick.
- Our M16 dry diamond core bits with a working length of 160 mm: Ø 32 / 42 / 92 / 102 / 112 / 122 / 132 / 142 / 152 mm for concrete, masonry, brick and lightweight concrete.
- Our case set containing five M16 dry diamond core bits: Ø 38 / 52 / 65 / 117 / 127 mm in a case, for when multiple sizes are required.
