DKB502/PRO core drilling system with KBS502/PRO core drill stand for wet drilling up to 502 mm

This set combines our 3.5 kW class stand-mounted wet drilling rig with the large dowel stand: 3, 500 watts, three-speed gearbox in oil bath, up to Ø 502 mm and 650 mm drilling depth, for concrete, reinforced concrete, stone and masonry.

The drill and stand are also available separately: DKB502/pro and KBS502/pro.

Drilling diameters and materials

The DKB502/pro drills wet in concrete, reinforced concrete and masonry. The large drill bits require the stable guidance provided by the stand to ensure the borehole remains round and straight throughout its entire depth. The water cools the core bit and binds the drilling dust into slurry; for vertical drilling upwards, a water collection ring is included.

Motor and gearbox

The 3500-watt motor, rated at 230 V and 16 A, operates via a three-speed gearbox in an oil bath. The speeds are low and are therefore suited to large core bits: in first gear they run slowly and at full torque, whilst smaller ones run in third gear at a higher cutting speed. In reinforced concrete, the next lower gear is selected.

Additional functions

• Soft start: The drill bit engages without a torque surge, protecting the machine and the mains supply at start-up.
• LCD display and performance indicator: These show current consumption, power, motor temperature and operating hours, allowing the feed rate to be adjusted via the lever according to the actual load.
• Carbon brush warning system: Shuts down the machine in good time and indicates when the brushes need replacing on the display. A spare set is included.

Protective functions

• Slip clutch: Mechanically disconnects the power transmission as soon as the drill bit jams.
• Electronic protection: Protected against overload, overvoltage and overheating.
• Protection class II: Protective insulation; no earth conductor required.
• Personal protection switch: PRCD in the mains cable.

Core drill stand KBS502/PRO

The KBS502/PRO is the stand for the largest diameters: designed for up to Ø 502 mm and a drilling depth of 650 mm, yet still easy to manoeuvre at 19.5 kg including the chassis. The unit is mounted on the feed carriage via the 110 mm high mounting adapter using four screws and a key. The feed mechanism has two gear shafts: the upper one is geared for slow, powerful feed during drilling, whilst the lower one moves the carriage quickly; the lever can be attached on either side. For angled drilling, the guide column can be tilted up to 45 degrees; levelling screws and spirit levels are used to align it. With the chassis fitted, the column is tilted backwards and pushed on its wheels.

Mounting to wall, floor and ceiling

The stand is positioned in the groove of the base plate using a threaded rod or the screw from a fixing kit and secured with a nut; the fixing materials are not included in the set. When mounted to the ceiling, the fixing supports the stand and the device against gravity; the instructions highlight specific risks in this regard. Our fixing accessories depend on the surface:

• Kordel-Fix Set xl: Cord threaded rod with Kordel-Fix nut; quick to install and reusable. The first choice for repeated drilling in concrete.
• Concrete wall plugs and threaded rod: The classic anchoring method using metal wall plugs for load-bearing concrete; in brick walls, the instructions require a special masonry anchor.
• Setting tool: For cleanly setting the anchors without damaging the thread.
