M18 dust extraction attachment for back box cutters on the Soft impact core drilling machine

The M18 to M16 dust extraction attachment is ideal for electricians who are installing our SID132/Xtrem flush-mounted sockets in series using the dry method and wish to extract the dust directly at the socket: It is screwed onto the M18 spindle, accommodates back box cutters and core bits with an M16 thread and extraction port at the front, and channels the drilling dust into the industrial vacuum cleaner. A plug-in centring tip guides the cutter during initial drilling. For core bits with a 1 1/4" UNC thread, we offer our M18 to 1 1/4" UNC Dust extraction attachment.

How to fit the back box cutter

With the tool removed, screw the extraction system onto the drill spindle, fit the Back box cutter onto the M16 thread, insert the centring tip and connect the extraction hose. The centre point positions the box cutter precisely at the drilling point; after the initial drilling, it is withdrawn and the box cutter continues to run without it. In soft-hammer drilling mode with a soft-hammer dry diamond core bit, the operating instructions specify the use of the extraction system; otherwise, they recommend it to extend the drill bit’s service life.

M16 or 1 1/4" UNC

The tool determines which of the two extraction systems is suitable: the M18 to M16 connection accommodates back box cutters for switches and sockets, whilst the M18 to 1 1/4" UNC connection accommodates core bits for openings up to 132 mm in concrete and up to 202 mm in masonry. If you’re drilling both types, you’ll need both extraction adaptors and can switch between them depending on the tool.

Compatible with

• SID132/Xtrem: Our soft impact core drilling machine, 3.7 kg, for dry drilling in concrete up to Ø 132 mm and in masonry up to Ø 202 mm. A dust extraction system is not supplied with the tool; the operating instructions specify one for M16 back box cutters.
• DKB102/H: Using the supplied M16 to 1 1/4" UNC adapter and our 1 1/4" UNC to M18 adapter, the extraction system can also be fitted to the DKB102/H for M16 dry diamond core bits in masonry.
• M16 back box cutters: Suitable for soft-hammer drilling, Ø 68 / 72 / 76 / 82 mm, with a mount for a dust extraction attachment.

What else you’ll need

Extraction is carried out using an industrial vacuum cleaner connected to the Ø 34 mm port; suitable vacuum cleaners can be found in our range of industrial vacuum cleaners.

Contents of the delivery

The M18 to M16 dust extraction attachment and the centring tip are supplied. The back box cutters and industrial vacuum cleaner are not included.
