This set is ideal for flush-mounted sockets with back box cutters, ensuring precise positioning on the marked line: SDS Plus to M16 adapter, Pilot drill Ø 8 x 120 mm, drive wedge.
- SDS Plus shank: fits like a drill bit; the back box cutter or core bit is fitted at the front.
- 120 mm Pilot drill for back box cutters: pre-drills and holds the cutter in place; the drive wedge releases it.
- For hammer drills with SDS Plus: use in pure drilling mode without hammer action.

SDS Plus to M16 adapter with 8 x 120 mm Pilot drill and drive wedge
This set is ideal for installing flush-mounted sockets using an SDS-Plus hammer drill, drilled precisely along the marked line: SDS Plus to M16, plus a 8 x 120 mm Pilot drill to guide the core bit during initial drilling, and a drive wedge. For the 160 mm long M16 dry diamond core bits, we offer our set with an 8 x 230 mm Pilot drill; without the Pilot drill, we offer our SDS Plus to M16 adapter.
Thread and chuck
The adapter is inserted into the SDS-Plus chuck of the hammer drill just like a drill bit and locks into place; at the front, the back box cutter or core bit is screwed onto the M16 thread. The Pilot drill, with its tapered shank, fits into the adapter and first drills an 8 mm hole, which holds the core bit in place when it is positioned, preventing it from slipping. After the initial drilling, it is removed; the drive wedge releases the taper from the adapter.

Compatible core bits and machines
The diamond tool runs on a hammer drill in pure drilling mode without hammer action; our back box cutters are not designed for use with hammer drills. Suitable for the M16 thread:
- Our M16 back box cutters: Ø 68 / 72 / 76 / 82 mm for installation sockets in masonry, sand-lime brick and clay brick – the length for which the 120 Pilot drill is intended.
- Our M16 dry diamond core bits with a working length of 160 mm: Ø 32 / 42 / 92 / 102 / 112 / 122 / 132 / 142 / 152 mm for concrete, masonry, brick and lightweight concrete; for this, use the set with the 230 Pilot drill.
- Our ZB pilot drill: Available as a replacement in 120 / 200 / 210 / 230 mm when the tip has become blunt after numerous drill holes.
