Carriage lock for the KBS352/PRO and KBS502/PRO core drill stands
Replacement carriage lock for our KBS352/PRO and KBS502/PRO core drill stands. It secures the feed carriage, together with the core drilling unit, to the guide stand to prevent it from sinking under its own weight during set-up, bit changes and transport.
Suitable for
- KBS352/PRO: Our stand for diameters up to 402 mm with mounting adapter.
- KBS352/XL-PRO: The long stand with a 1600 mm stroke; same locking mechanism.
- KBS502/PRO: Our stand for diameters up to 502 mm and a drilling depth of 650 mm, with a chassis.
- DKB352/PRO and DKB502/PRO: Our stand-mounted units, which are fitted to the carriage via the mounting adapter. When used with the KBS352/PRO, the DKB502/PRO can only drill up to the stand’s Ø 402 mm.
There is a dedicated carriage locking mechanism for our KBS252/PRO. All stands can be found in our Core drill stands section.
When to change
The locking mechanism operates via a toothed piece that engages with the rack, actuated by a rotary bolt which locks into place at both end positions with a spring-loaded pin. According to the operating instructions, it must be replaced as soon as it no longer secures the carriage, as with the heavy equipment used on these stands, an unsecured carriage will move downwards uncontrollably. Moving the feed lever whilst the carriage is locked will damage the locking mechanism and the rack.
- Signs: The carriage can no longer be secured; the rotary latch does not engage
- Replacement: Hold the carriage and tool firmly in place beforehand to prevent anything from dropping
- Contents: Sled lock as a set
