The soft-hammer dry diamond core bit, Ø 225 mm, is ideal for dry core drilling in concrete, reinforced concrete and brick using our soft impact core drilling machines: 16 diamond segments, 10 mm high, 450 mm working length, inner diameter 220 mm for the core.
- Ø 225 mm: for ventilation and chimney flues, in a Core drill stand.
- Segments for soft-hammer drilling: cut dry in reinforced concrete; long service life with Dust extraction attachment.

Soft-hammer dry diamond core bit, 450 mm, for concrete and reinforced concrete, Ø 32 to 305 mm, 1 1/4" UNC
The soft-hammer dry diamond core bit is ideal for dry core drilling through thick reinforced concrete walls and ceilings where water must not be allowed to enter: 23 diameters ranging from Ø 32 to 305 mm, 450 mm working length, designed for soft impact core drilling machines. For thinner structural elements and hand-held drilling, we offer our shorter soft impact dry diamond core bit with a working length of 300 mm.
Diameter and shank
In addition to the installation dimensions – 52 and 62 mm for pipe penetrations, 82 mm for junction boxes and small pipes, 102 to 132 mm for waste water pipes, and 152 to 202 mm for ventilation, the range extends to 225 / 250 / 305 mm for building entries and large ventilation ducts. The 450 mm effective length passes through external walls and ceilings of standard thickness in a single pass. The 1 1/4" UNC thread screws directly onto the spindle.

Segments and design
The core bit is designed for soft-hammer core drilling: the machine’s gentle hammering action, in addition to rotation, keeps the diamond segments cutting effectively in reinforced concrete, dry and without cooling water. The high-quality segments, 10 mm high, deliver precise cutting performance and a longer service life. The number of segments increases with the diameter.

Materials and dry drilling
With the soft-hammer function engaged, the core bit drills dry in concrete, reinforced concrete and brick; without the soft-hammer function, it drills in brick, lightweight concrete, screed and Ytong. In reinforced concrete, the dust extraction attachment is essential: without it, drill dust and hot steel chips will damage the segments. After a drilling depth of no more than 5 cm, the core bit is therefore withdrawn far enough for the industrial vacuum cleaner to extract the cuttings – several times per hole, given a working length of 450 mm. Suitable machines
The core bit is designed for use with a soft impact core drilling machine. On SID rigs, our centring tip for 450 mm core bits with a total length of 514 mm guides the core bit from a diameter of 42 mm during initial drilling. The choice of which of our rigs is suitable depends primarily on the diameter:
- SID352/PRO: For use in a core drill stand only, up to Ø 352 mm, and thus the only one of our soft-hammer machines suitable for the entire range up to Ø 305 mm.
- SID202/H-Xtrem: Hand-held up to Ø 162 mm, in a Core drill stand up to Ø 202 mm. The H-handle provides control when drilling into ceilings and floors.
- SID202/P-Xtrem: Identical in construction to the P-handle model, easy to handle on walls and in confined spaces.
- SID132/Xtrem: The lightweight hand-held tool up to Ø 132 mm; the core bit is mounted on the M18 spindle via our M18 Dust extraction attachment on a 1 1/4" UNC thread. For most hand drilling applications, the 300 mm core bit is the more practical choice here.
