The Ø 77 mm dry diamond core bit is ideal for drilling through concrete, masonry, brick and lightweight concrete using our core drilling machines: laser-welded turbo segments, 10 mm high, 400 mm working length, internal diameter 70 mm for the drill core.
- Ø 77 mm: for DN 70 waste water pipes with a tight fit.
- Turbo segments and spiral flutes: fast feed rate, cuttings are removed, less heat build-up on the segments.
- Fits any tool with a 1 1/4" UNC thread without hammer action: dry drilling with a Dust extraction attachment; not suitable for reinforced concrete.

400 mm turbo dry diamond core bit for concrete, masonry and brick, Ø 32 to 202 mm, 1 1/4" UNC
This dry diamond core bit is ideal for drilling through concrete, masonry, bricks and lightweight concrete in buildings without water or slurry getting onto the wall: 20 diameters ranging from Ø 32 to 202 mm, 400 mm working length for drilling through thick external walls in a single pass, 1 1/4" UNC to fit the spindle of our core drilling machines. For shorter drill holes and machines with an M16 thread, we offer our dry diamond core bit with a 160 mm working length.
Diameters and shank types
The range covers standard installation dimensions: 52 and 62 mm for pipe penetrations, 82 mm for junction boxes and small pipes, 102 to 132 mm for waste water pipes, and 152 to 202 mm for ventilation. The smaller sizes, from 32 mm, accommodate cables and conduits. The 1 1/4" UNC thread screws directly onto the spindle; if required, a Dust extraction attachment with the same thread can be fitted in between.

Segments and construction
The turbo segments engage with the material more quickly than straight segments and provide greater feed rate whilst placing less strain on the bit. They are laser-welded on; the joint is stronger than a brazed seam and ensures the bit has a long service life. Spiral grooves on the drill body carry cuttings away from the borehole, which reduces heat build-up on the segments, particularly given the long working length.

Materials and dry drilling
The core bit drills dry in concrete, masonry, brick, lightweight concrete and concrete blocks – in other words, in unreinforced mineral building materials. Reinforced concrete is not suitable for this bit; only soft-hammer bits, such as our soft-hammer dry diamond core bits with a 450 mm working length, can drill it dry when used on a soft impact core drilling machine with a soft-hammer mechanism. Drilling is carried out with Dust extraction attachment using one of our industrial vacuum cleaners: This keeps the segments free of debris, thereby prolonging their service life and protecting both the operator and the machine from drilling dust. Excessive feed pressure causes wear on the segments; the core bit performs best with a steady, moderate feed rate.

Suitable machines
The core bit requires a core drilling rig with sufficient power and without hammer action. Our DKB-202/H-PRO and DKB-202/P-PRO drill dry with extraction in masonry, sand-lime brick, clinker and bricks, hand-held up to Ø 162 mm and in a Core drill stand up to Ø 202 mm, thus covering the entire range. The H-handle is suitable for ceilings and floors, whilst the P-handle is designed for walls and confined spaces. You can find all other machines with a 1 1/4" UNC thread in our core drilling range.
Suitable accessories
For dry drilling with dust extraction, a clean start to drilling and thick walls:
- SAS-PRO dust extraction attachment: Fits between the spindle and the core bit with a 1 1/4" UNC thread (internal and external) and channels the drilling dust via the hose connection (32 mm internal, 38 mm external) to an industrial vacuum cleaner.
- Centring tip for 400 mm core bits: With a total length of 465 mm, tailored to the effective length, it guides the core bit from a diameter of 42 mm during the initial drilling and is withdrawn as soon as a guide circle has formed.
- Extension with 1 1/4" UNC: 100 / 250 / 500 mm long, fits between the spindle and the core bit, for walls thicker than the 400 mm working length.
