BSM250/Xtrem floor grinder for concrete, screed, stone and wood; wet and dry sanding

The BSM250/Xtrem is our floor grinder with a brushless motor: 2,500 watts (IE5), 250 mm working width, continuously variable speed from 400 to 2,000 rpm, wet and dry, for concrete, screed, marble, terrazzo and wood.

If you prefer a fixed speed, choose our BSM250/E-PRO with 2200 watts.

Substrates and applications

Fitted with diamond grinding discs and shoes, the BSM250/Xtrem processes soft to hard concrete floors, removes tile adhesive and epoxy coatings, and prepares substrates for floor coverings. Fitted with sanding pads and Diamond polishing pads on the Velcro pad holder, it becomes a polishing machine for stone, terrazzo and wooden floors. It operates wet in cases of heavy dust generation; otherwise, it runs dry with dust extraction.

Motor and speed

The brushless 2500-watt motor, which meets energy efficiency class IE5, operates with low friction, is maintenance-free and is significantly quieter than a brushed motor. The speed of the grinding head is adjusted at the touch of a button and shown on the display on the control box; the direction of rotation can also be selected. This means the machine adapts to the material and abrasive, rather than the other way round.

Additional functions

• Swivelling grinding head: Can be swivelled to either side, allowing edges and corners to be reached with the hand sander without the need for reworking.
• Speed display: Shows the set speed on the control box; the setting remains consistent.
• Adjustable guide arm: The upper section and handle can be adjusted to suit the user’s height without the need for tools.
• Brush ring: The standard ring of soft brushes keeps dust beneath the sanding head during dry sanding and guides the machine evenly across the floor.

Dust extraction attachment and wet operation

For dry sanding, an industrial vacuum cleaner is connected to the extraction port; the brush ring ensures that the dust is drawn into it. For wet sanding, the connection is sealed with the dust protection cap and water is supplied via the Gardena coupling from the water pressure tank or the mains supply.

Guidance and transport

Weighing 68 kg, the BSM250/Xtrem is a machine designed for medium to large areas; it is guided along the floor rather than carried. For transport, the upper section of the guide arm folds forwards, allowing the machine to fit into any van at a length of 650 mm. The low vibration level of 2.5 m/s² makes even long days of sanding bearable.

Suitable grinding tools and accessories

The type of floor determines which of our grinding tools is fitted to the grinding head:

• Diamond grinding discs and diamond grinding shoes: For concrete and screed, from coarse to fine grinding, depending on grit size and bond type.
• Adapter plate Ø 250 mm: Quick change system for Diamond grinding shoes, PKD segments and pads, saving time with every tool change.
• Sanding pads and diamond polishing pads: For wood, from grit 24 to 2000; for stone, marble and terrazzo, for polishing and waxing.
• TS1000/PRO industrial vacuum cleaner: Fits the extraction connection and collects fine dust during dry sanding.
• WT60/S water pressure tank: 60 litres with hose reel for wet sanding without a mains water connection.

Scope of delivery

The BSM250/Xtrem comes ready for assembly; the sanding tool is selected according to the floor type:

• M12 x 25 countersunk head screws, 4 pieces, with Allen key for securing the sanding tools
• Velcro pad holders for diamond polishing pads and sanding pads
• Operating instructions

Grinding discs, pads and an industrial vacuum cleaner are not included.
