VGP420/PRO vacuum plate for core drill stands, mounting without dowels

The VGP420/PRO is our vacuum plate made from cast aluminium: 335 x 420 mm base area, core drilling systems up to 25 kg, boreholes up to Ø 162 mm on the floor and Ø 102 mm on the wall, 5.5 kg, for floor and wall mounting on a level, smooth surface.

The vacuum is generated by our VP113/PRO vacuum pump; the baseplate and pump together form the complete vacuum fixing.

Surface and drilling diameter

Vacuum adhesion is only effective on level, smooth and clean surfaces, i.e. on screed, polished concrete, tiles or natural stone; it does not work on rough masonry or plaster. The plate can be used on floors and walls; drilling into ceilings using vacuum is not permitted. The drilling diameter is limited by the system’s weight and the direction of drilling.

Assembly and connection

The cast aluminium base housing features a durable rubber seal that seals off the vacuum chamber from the floor. The pump is connected via the connection nipple and the vacuum hose; the stand is secured to the plate using the supplied threaded rod and nut. Two handles mean that mounting the 5.5 kg plate on the wall can be done by a single person.

Safety features

• Minimum vacuum of 0.7 bar: The plate will only hold securely once this value is reached; the pump must achieve and maintain this pressure before drilling begins.
• Vent valve: Releases the vacuum in a controlled manner; the plate can be removed effortlessly after drilling.

Compatible core drill stands and pump

The plate is designed for core drill stands without their own vacuum connection, whether manufactured by us or by other manufacturers: the stand’s base plate must have a groove or bore for the threaded rod, and the stand, equipment and drill bit must not weigh more than 25 kg in total. All our KBS core drill stands are compatible with the plate: KBS252/Light-K, KBS252/PRO, KBS352/PRO, KBS352/XL-PRO and KBS502/PRO, each with a unit that complies with the 25 kg limit. Our two IDS stands do not require the base plate; they already have the vacuum adapter integrated into the base plate and are connected directly to the pump.

• Vacuum pump VP113/PRO: 430 W, 113 l/min suction capacity, 4 m hose. Generates and maintains the vacuum required for the plate; without the pump, the plate will not hold.
• IDS252/V-PRO: Core drill stand up to Ø 252 mm with built-in vacuum connection, for tools with a 60 mm clamping collar. The pump is sufficient for Vacuum fixing; the plate is not required.
• IDS352/V-PRO: The heavy-duty model up to Ø 352 mm, also with integrated vacuum connection. Here too, the pump is sufficient.
